Super Over scrapped

Super Over scrapped

Cricket's World Cup trophy will be shared by the finalists in 2015 if there is a tie, or no result, after the sport's governing body decided to scrap use of a "super over" for the showpiece match. The International Cricket Council (ICC) decided also that there will be no "super over" to settle the quarterfinals or semifinals. The teams that finish highest in the groups will advance, it said. In another change announced by the ICC, following a board meeting in Dubai, the Decision Review System will be used for all matches at the World Cup, to be held in Australia and New Zealand from Feb. 14-Mar. 29. The ICC has also made changes to its anti-corruption code. It said that Najam Sethi, the former chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, will take over as the new ICC president.
